What is New in HDMI 1.4?
In HDMI 1.4, there are two new types of HDMI connectors are introduced, type D and E. Thus, there are totally five types of connectors.
Type A: the most commonly used HDMI connector for home applications. Type B: 29-pin dal link connector to support very high resolution, reserved for future application.
Type C: more compact connector of a camcorder and other mobile devices.
Type D: carries the same signals as type A but is more compact than type C and designed for cell phones, pocket cameras, and other portable devices.
Type E: carries the same signals as type A but is more robustly designed for automotive applications.
